Going Private

Anyone still out there? I don't blame you all for not sticking around. I can't believe I've been absent this long! I keep telling myself to get on here and write something...anything, but lately it just seems overwhelming and life is already crazy busy as it is. But I miss it. I guess what I'd really like to write about is not possible (yet), so I feel like I have blogger block and just don't know what to say. One thing that I can tell you is that I've made the decision to go private with the blog. Not an easy decision, but I've had some weird traffic activity on here and photos taken without permission and it's all just kind of creepy. I'll feel more comfortable with the option to password protect certain posts so I'll be switching over to W*rdpress. Sad letting this blog go. If only Bl*gger had password protection for posts, I'd stay. If you'd like to follow me, please email me and I'll gladly provide you a password when the new site is up and running.

Hope to see you at my new place!

Rockin' Halloween

My girl, the Rock Star. As soon as I put this costume on her and did her hair and make-up, she completely changed into her alter ego. So funny that I laughed the entire time I was taking pictures, so these are the best out of most of the blur! The last photo cracks me up with her yelling ROCK STAR! She absolutely loved trick-or-treating this year. Our new neighborhood goes all out for Halloween. Luci had so much candy that she could barely carry her bag into the house! Hope you had a great weekend!

Smile

Luci's such a mother hen and very intuitive with people's feelings and emotions. If she sees me crying or upset, she'll quickly grab the tissues and offers a great big hug. She gives the best hugs. Good and tight. Today was one of those days where I felt like nothing went right. From the minute I got out of bed, nothing seemed to go in my favor. On top of it all, I'm getting sick and I can feel a temperature brewing. Great. Just what I need before Halloween weekend. Needless to say, I was a grump all day and probably not the best company to be around. Tonight, I was giving Luci a bedtime snack and she looks up at me and says, "Mommy, you need to smile." Instantly, I smiled. "You know what makes me smile, Mommy?" "What Lulu?" "Peanut Butter Toast. I just LOVE Peanut Butter Toast! I love the way it tickles my tongue! It's delectable! AND, it makes me smile! You should have some Peanut Butter Toast, Mommy." I laughed so hard at her randomness, tears flowed...and for a split second, I could have sworn my girl was ready to give me another tissue. Instead, I got a great big hug. Oh, how she makes me smile!

Sorry Peeps, no adoption news!

I know this is a gloomy picture. Kinda how I'm feeling right now. But isn't she just beautiful. Love my girl.

Nothing. Nada. Zilch.

Not a single word from our agency the last two weeks. Even though we're sitting at #1, it feels like we haven't made any progress at all. Today marks EIGHT months since our dossier was sent to Ethiopia. Oh Sweet Lord, I just want to see her face! I've waited over two years to see my baby girl. I know that once I do, it'll be agony not to go over there immediately, scoop her up and bring her home. I'm at the bottom of the patience barrel, can't you tell? :)

We are still unpacking and settling into the new house. One box at a time. One room at a time, but it's coming along. Is it wrong that I'm so ready to start decorating for Christmas? Since all my decor is out in the open anyway, don't you think I should just put it up? Dear hubby would snort at me and call me crazy if I did that. I adore Christmas decor and wish that I could keep it out year long.

It's been forever and a day since I've given a Luci update. I will soon. Can you believe my Luci-Goose will be FIVE next month. Not a baby anymore...

Getting Settled

Our move into the new house has been exhausting. I'm so ready to get back to our regular routine, which starts tomorrow. We're still busy unpacking boxes, painting and setting up house, but it's coming along nicely. As far as adoption news, our agency gave us an update on Friday and as it stands, we are sitting at #1. NUMBER ONE!!! I can hardly stand the suspense! So happy that this move has been a great distraction for me, otherwise I'd go insane waiting for my phone to ring.

I promise, next time I post, I'll have pictures. I haven't had the time to really pick up my camera lately. Like I said, so ready to get back into my normal routine.

Did I mention...
WE'RE #1!!! YAY!!!

Moved In

We're all moved into our new house. Whew! I have so much work to do! Wanted to pop on here to let everyone know that we still haven't heard from our agency and that we have no internet (gasp!) at the new place. I'll post more later.

Lost

Photobucket

Look who lost their first tooth! I can't believe that Luci's old enough to lose a tooth already! At age four? Isn't that too young? Her other bottom front tooth is loose too, so it'll be gone in the next few days. Busy Tooth Fairy! =)

Still busy packing up our house and Moving Day is this weekend! Lots and lots going on....but still no referral!

Still here....

Blog? What Blog? Sorry I've been slacking, although I'm not even sure who reads this thing anymore! We've been busy packing up our house and settling last minute moving details. We move into our new home next weekend. I'm so ready to move in because I'm going crazy looking at all of these boxes and STUFF everywhere! I drives me crazy to see everything in utter chaos!

Still haven't heard anything as far as the adoption. Although, I got so ticked off today when I found out that a certain actress named her daughter the very name we are planning to use! I had it first, lady! Not that it matters. It's not like I know the girl or anything. I just don't want it to become popular! When we named Luci, it wasn't too common around here. Now it seems like we meet a new Lucy/Luci every week. Not going to tell yet what the name is, but if you want to guess, go for it. If you already know...zip it! =) Hopefully I'll be able to share very, very soon!

That's it for now. Oh, by the way, don't you love my photo? So pathetic. I haven't picked up my camera in TWO weeks. This was taken with Grandma's phone at St*arbucks today. Luci feels so grown up when she's enjoying her Little Steamer! Chow peeps.

Whew!

Seriously, I feel like a broken record, but my life is a whirlwind of craziness right now. It's been non-stop action. Most is good (or will be), but I barely have time to breathe much less blog. So here's what's going on...bullet style.

  • Our agency received a batch of referrals last week. One baby girl. So we're at number 2 on the list. Brian thinks we'll get a referral by the end of the month. I hope he's right!
  • Found out that our I-797c (same as I-171h) expired back in May. Would have helped if the government actually put an expiration date on the stupid form! Long story short, when we switched countries from Vietnam to Ethiopia, I assumed that when they sent us a new form, it had a new expiration date. Not so. It's was the original exp. date. So, now we'll have to re-file our I-600a application, get a home study update, and complete all supporting documentation... ALL.OVER.AGAIN. (will it ever end?)
  • We are moving into a new house. In a month. Crazy! We're excited to start a new chapter in our life, in a new house, with a new baby! Hmmm...all we need is baby.
  • Packing a house stinks. But at least it's taking me away from staring at the cell phone waiting for our agency to call.
  • I haven't had time for photography, which really bothers me. I have a session coming up, so I better dust off my camera.
  • Found a lump on my arm that gave me a small scare. It's just a cyst...thank you God.
  • Went to the dentist today. For those that haven't had in-office teeth whitening, it's no picnic! Seriously, two hours in the dentist chair sitting perfectly still while they fry chemicals on your pearly whites is painful! But my teeth are oh-soooo-white!!!
  • Completely excited to sit down and watch TV tonight. Can it get any better than So You Think You Can Dance AND Glee? Have you all seen Glee? LOVE IT!!!!
